On-line Counseling or E-Counseling
Online counseling or E-Counseling, as it is sometimes called, is generally provided via video counseling, online chat or via email. Online counseling is a convenient way for people to receive counseling if they are unable or unwilling to see a counselor in person for whatever reason. However, online counseling can also be used in conjunction with in-office counseling.
There are many reasons why people seek online counseling. One of the most common reasons is the convenience of receiving counseling from the comforts of one’s own home or office. Online counseling can also be beneficial to those who are home-bound like the elderly, the disabled, or individuals who simply live too far from a counseling facility. Also, people who want to remain anonymous, or those who are simply too embarrassed to meet face to face with a counselor can also benefit from online counseling. It really depends on the individual. Some people may feel more comfortable online and may be more likely to share their feelings, while others may feel that a more personal face-to-face interaction is needed. Those who live in smaller towns may find it somewhat embarrassing to be seen entering a counseling facility and would feel more comfortable utilizing online services. Others may choose online counseling because it can be less expensive than in-office counseling. However, because insurance companies rarely cover online sessions, clients will most likely have to pay out of pocket.
Online Christian Counseling offers anonymity, affordable counseling, and the convenience of receiving counseling from home. The decision to use online or in-office counseling really depends on the individual and their needs, and whether or not they are willing, or able to meet in person. In this day and age, there is always help readily available. And thanks to modern technology, there are many avenues in which to receive that help. The choice is up to that individual. The whole point of counseling is for a person to be comfortable enough to share their innermost thoughts and problems in order to receive the help they need. There is no right or wrong way. The right way is what works best for that individual. It doesn’t matter if they call or click. All that matters is that they receive the help they need.
